There's a pizza festival coming to the UK and it sounds like the stuff of dreams
Forget sleeping in a tent, getting all muddy and not being able to shower – a pizza festival is coming to Birmingham. Now that sounds like our kind of festival.
Yep, back for its second year, Brum’s Big Fat Pizza Festival is dedicated entirely to the carby, cheesy goodness of pizza.

Independent street food traders will flock to warehouse venue No21 Digbeth on April 29 – and you’ll find everything from deep pan margheritas to thin ‘n’ crispy meat feasts there. And, yes, Hawaiian pizzas too … cue many debates between festival-goers over pineapple as a topping, we’re sure.
Organised by Taste and Liquor, the festival is set to be even bigger than last year, which saw around 2,500 pizza fans gather together.
According to the Facebook page for the event, “four of the UK’s top pizzerias will also be battling it out to find out whose crust is king, including pizza joints Pizza Di Bruni and Solwuna Pizza, as well as Pizza Heaven and Oregano Kitchen”. Yep, we will be trying them all, and will probably end up in a food coma.
There will be all sorts of delicious drinks around to try too, like hot rum cocktails, craft beer and hot chocolate cocktails. And you’ll be able to get your hands on other street food if, for some unknown reason, you want a break from pizza. Think: chips and gravy.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a festival without a bit of entertainment – we’re talking screenings of 80s films in the retro lounge area, free face painting and games like Play Your Cards Right and Bingo Rave.
So there’s all that, plus eight hours of stuffing your face with pizza for just £5 entry.
We are so ready for this. See you at the Bingo Rave … with a pizza, obvs.
