The cheese egg is here to save all chocolate-haters this Easter

Cheester egg

For those of us without a sweet tooth, Easter can be quite a trying time. Sure, we want to overindulge like everyone else, but that’s just quite tricky when you’re not the biggest fan of chocolate.

Fear no more, because there’s a new egg in town. Spoiler alert: it’s got nothing to do with chocolate. Instead, it’s a solid hunk of cheese.

Food blogger Annem Hobson from So Wrong It’s Nom created the chocolate alternative, which is dubbed the Cheester Egg (geddit?)

This isn’t the first time Annem’s brought the joy of cheese to the holidays, as last Christmas she launched the cheese advent calendar.

“Chocolate is OK, but it’s a little boring and frankly I’m sick of seeing it dominating key retail periods,” Annem says. “Cheese is what excites me so I’m thrilled my plans for a Cheester Egg have finally hatched.”

The egg is made with independent artisan cheese-making company Wildes Cheese, and is 260g of solid, creamy, sharply flavoured fromage.

Best yet, it’ll cost you just £14.95 for the egg itself, or a bit more if you opt for the “Nest Hamper” option for those who want full cheesy luxury.

Check out the options here, and may your Easter be as cheese-filled as possible.
